Darshan Dharmaraj, born on 2nd March 1981 and passing away on 2nd October 2022, was a notable Sri Lankan performer across film, theater, and television. His introduction to television occurred through the teledrama "A9," directed by Sidney Chandrasekara. He gained recognition and acclaim for his role as an ex-LTTE cadre in Asoka Handagama's movie "Ini Avan" (2012), earning him the Best Actor Awards at multiple Sri Lankan Film Festivals.
Early in his life, Darshan Dharmaraj was born in Rakwana, situated in the Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. He received his education at St. John's Tamil College.
His professional journey kicked off in 2008 when he was cast for a Sinhala script in Sydney Chandrasekara's television series "A-Nine." Despite his initial lack of fluency in Sinhala, he dedicated three months to mastering the language. Subsequently, he ventured into the world of cinema with his debut in the 2008 film "Prabhakaran."
Tragically, Darshan Dharmaraj's life was cut short by a heart attack, and he passed away on 2nd October 2022 at the age of 41 while being treated at the Colombo National Hospital.
