Growing up in different Army bases in Sri Lanka due to her father's military background, Yohani has a younger sister, Shavindri de Silva, who is currently pursuing medicine. Growing up, she was exposed to different genres of music, such as BeeGees, Spice Girls, AR Rahman, and Elton John, which her parents often listened to. Before embarking on her career as an artist, she completed her higher education in Logistics Management and Professional Accounting from the General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University. She also obtained a master's degree in accounting from CQUniversity Australia.</p>
