Menake Hemaal Rajapakse, born on 24 May 1983, is a prominent Sri Lankan teledrama actor and model. His journey in the entertainment industry began in 2005 when he was cast as one of the main actors in the teledrama "Sanda Mudunata," aired on Swarnavahini. However, due to his exceptional performance, his role soon transformed into a leading one.
Over the years, Menake has showcased his acting prowess in more than 30 teledramas and three films by 2015. He has proven to be a versatile talent, captivating audiences with his on-screen presence.
Menake's early life reveals that he is the second child in his family. His father, Ivan Rajapakse, was an executive in the hotel industry but sadly passed away in 2004. His mother, Zareena Allang, is of Malay descent and used to work as a teacher at Wycherly International School. Menake attended St. Peter's College in Colombo during his school days.
His breakthrough in the entertainment world came when teledrama producer Samy Pavel noticed him during a SAAF Games event in 2005. Menake's exceptional talent as a competitive swimmer, which even led to him breaking a national record, caught Samy Pavel's attention.
As a result, Menake was chosen for a major role in the teledrama "Sanda Mudunata," which Samy Pavel directed in 2005. His impressive performance in this production led to his rise in popularity, particularly after his role in the teledrama "Muthu Kirilli" in 2008. Subsequently, he took part in several other television serials, including "Ran Dam Wal," "Monara Kadadasi," and "Adare Ahasa Tharam."
Besides his television success, Menake also ventured into the world of cinema. His first film role was in the sport-drama film "Sinhawalokanaya," and he later starred in the crime thriller film "Train to Kandy."
