Rashmini Paboda Sandeepani Pathirana, born on 16 January 1982, is a talented actress in Sri Lankan cinema, theatre, and television. She has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry in various mediums.
Sandeepani comes from a family deeply rooted in the arts. Her mother is the renowned Sri Lankan actress Geetha Kanthi Jayakody, while her aunt, Rathna Lalani Jayakody, and uncle, Sampath Tennakoon, are also esteemed artists in Sri Lanka. Bimal Jayakody, a popular actor, is the son of Geetha Kanthi's elder brother and is married to fellow actress Sujani Menaka.
At the tender age of five, Paboda Sandeepani made her acting debut alongside her mother in the teledrama "Yashorawaya." They continued to work together in the teledrama "Bopath Sakkiya." After a span of 31 years, they reunited for the upcoming film "Sri Saddha."
Sandeepani embarked on her career in the film industry at a young age, guided by her mother. While she appeared in a few films, it was her work in television serials that garnered significant attention. In 2000, she took her first steps into Sinhala cinema with an uncredited role in the film "Sanda Yahanata." However, her breakthrough in cinema came with Udayakantha Warnasuriya's film "Bahubuthayo," where she portrayed the lead female antagonist alongside popular actors Mahendra Perera and Rodney Warnakula.
