Born on 29 January 1984, Yureni Noshika is a Sri Lankan actress, singer, and media personality who has made a name for herself in the country's cinema and television industries. She kickstarted her career by winning the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World pageant and subsequently worked in commercials before venturing into acting in both TV and movies.
In 2006, Noshika was crowned the winner of the "Models of the New Generation" competition, which was hosted by Derana TV. She subsequently represented Sri Lanka at the Tourism World contest. Despite her initial interest in pursuing a career in law, she decided to pursue her potential in acting and music after her success in the pageant. Noshika's career began with appearances in commercials for Coca-Cola and Nestlé, before she was offered a role in the teledrama Kindurangana, a joint production between Balaji Telefilms of India and the Maharaja organization of Sri Lanka. The series was a remake of the Hindi television serial Kasam Se.
Since then, Noshika has acted in several other popular television serials such as Sanda Sakki, Arora, Sihina Sindrella, Ayal, and Pingaladanauwwa. In 2009, she made her debut in the film industry with a leading role in the critically acclaimed and commercially successful movie Nino Live. Additionally, she received the Best Supporting Actress award at the Raigam Tele'es ceremony.
Noshika made her foray into the music industry in 2015 with the release of her first single, Saree Pote. In 2017, she released her second single, Chewing Gum (Wage Kollo), and also guest-starred in the film Rush. She played the lead role in Kasun Pathirana's debut film Knight Rider, marking her third appearance in the cinema industry.
