Nayanathara Wickramaarachchi, born on January 22, 1998, in Sri Lanka, is a 25-year-old actress. She attended Sandalanka Maha Vidyalaya before continuing her education at Madduma Bandara Maha Vidyalaya, Weliweriya, where she completed her G.C.E Ordinary Level and G.C.E Advanced Level.
Her passion for acting led her to train under Dharmajith Punarjeeva at the Mayakshakti Drama Studio.
As an actress, Nayanathara has appeared in commercials for various brands, including Facia, Lux, and Ruveda. She belongs to the Hindu religion and was raised in Colombo.
After completing her higher studies, she entered the entertainment industry. Nayanathara's journey on social media began on February 17, 2017, when she uploaded her first picture to her self-titled Instagram account. One of her early works was in an adaptation of German playwright Bertolt Brecht's play "Ragena Avi Mamada Emi," and it remained one of her last stage works until 2021.
Her remarkable portrayal of Dewmi Uththara in "Deweni Inima" earned her several accolades, including three consecutive "most popular actress" awards at the Raigam Tele'es and four SLIM-Nielsen Peoples Awards. In 2017, she was honored with the title of "most popular actress" at the Sumathi Awards.
Nayanathara made her debut on TV in the show "Hansa Pihatu" and later appeared in other shows like "Meedumen Eha," "Eran Landu," and "Praana."
In December 2020, she joined Twitter to connect with her fans. Despite her love for the taste of chocolate, she prefers to consume it in moderation. Additionally, Nayanathara practices the art of Yoga on a daily basis, promoting a healthy lifestyle.
