Ima Weerasooriya is an active participant in the art industry, notably crowned as Swarnavahini Swarnakumariya in 2015. Her educational journey led her through various notable institutions, including the University of the Visual & Performing Arts in Sri Lanka, where she specialized in Drama & Theatre-Acting. She began her academic path at Kg/Mw/Sujatha Vidyalaya in Rambukkana before progressing to Pinnawala Central College.
Currently residing in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Ima Weerasooriya hails from Rambukkana, where she achieved a remarkable 2nd Class (Upper Division) Honour in her Bachelor of Performing Arts (Special) degree in 2020. Her accomplishments include the distinction of being crowned Swarnavahini Swarnakumariya in 2015, and her active engagement in academic and research pursuits is evidenced by her participation in the UVPA Undergraduate Research Symposium 2k19.
Her academic journey commenced at Kg/Mw/Sujatha Vidyalaya, Rambukkana, in 2001, followed by graduation in 2011. She then embarked on her studies at Pinnawala Central College, culminating in her graduation in 2014. This dedication to education and the arts was further demonstrated by her enrollment at the University of the Visual & Performing Arts in 2016.
