Dharshan Thavaraja, born on January 7, 1994, is a skilled portrait artist and a versatile actor renowned for his contributions to Sri Lankan television.[1] Commencing his journey as a TV presenter and model,[2] Dharshan initially made his mark in the Tamil entertainment realm of Sri Lanka before transitioning to acting in Sinhala Teledramas.[3]
In his personal life, Dharshan Thavaraja was born on January 7, 1994, and he shares a close bond with his elder sister. His mother, Shanmugam Chithrakala, raised him. He pursued his education at Vivekananda College, Colombo,[3] and further honed his painting skills by attending an art school in India.
Even during his childhood, Dharshan exhibited a knack for mimicking the behaviors of his relatives and family friends, entertaining his family members with his antics. His family's unwavering support nurtured his passions from an early age,[3] and he always aspired to dress elegantly and stylishly, a desire his grandmother ardently backed, even in times of financial constraints.[3]
Dharshan embarked on his acting career within the Tamil Entertainment industry while concurrently working as a Television presenter. In 2021, he ventured into the Sinhala Television industry, a move prompted by a lack of sufficient recognition and encouragement from his Tamil audience. This choice presented him with the dilemma of either continuing within the realm of Sri Lankan Sinhala Television, a predominant source of entertainment, or seeking opportunities within the vast Indian Film Industry. Throughout his career, Dharshan gravitates toward portraying roles of villains or action heroes.[3]
Currently, Dharshan can be seen captivating audiences through his roles in prominent series such as "Hithuwakkara" and "Sidu 2 – Shakthi Sinhala Tele Series."[4] He has also made notable appearances in the Tamil Tele Series "Rudhraraksha" and "7K."
