He completed his education at Dharmapala Vidyalaya in Pannipitiya and pursued higher studies at the University of Kelaniya, earning his degree from there. Thumindu's career spans over a decade, starting in 2007 and continuing to the present day. He gained recognition for his remarkable performance in the film "Sankara" released in 2007, and his notable portrayal of Jehan Fernando in the popular series "Koombiyo." In 2014, he tied the knot with Kalani Dodantenna, and they have been together ever since. Thumindu is a proud parent to one child and is also related to Asanka Dodantenna. His talent and dedication have garnered him accolades, including the Most Popular Actor award in 2017 and the Best Actor award in 2019.
