Lochi wears multiple hats as a YouTuber, dancer, model, actress, and television presenter.[2][3] Her journey commenced in 2016 under the brand name Lochi,[4] propelling her into the realms of TikTok, YouTube, and various other social media platforms, where she garnered widespread popularity.[5][6]</p><p>Early Life:
Lochi was born as the eldest child in her family on 24 September 1994 in Piliyandala, Colombo, Sri Lanka.[7] Her father, Kapila Susira Kumara, serves as a male nurse at Apeksha Cancer Hospital, Maharagama. Unfortunately, her mother, Indrani Arugamage, a housewife, passed away in 2014 due to a lung infection.[8] Lochana has two younger sisters, Dhanushika Madhushani and Rumesha Ushani.[3] Her educational journey began at Piliyandala Junior School and later she pursued her Ordinary Levels at Dharmasena Attigala Girls School. She completed her A-Levels at Buddhist Girls College, Mount Lavinia.[9]</p><p>Career:
Before making her mark on social media, Lochi honed her skills as a dancer and earned certification as a Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN) member.[10] Inspired by the YouTube videos of Lele Pons,[6] she aspired to become an internet celebrity in Sri Lanka.[9] In the wake of her mother's passing, she joined a dance group, showcasing her talents as a professional dancer for several renowned dance troupes in Sri Lanka.[11]</p><p>Lochi's digital content creation journey took off in 2016 with a TikTok account using the 'Musically app'.[12] Her inaugural TikTok video featured a captivating dance performance with a friend, followed by two more dance acts that garnered positive feedback from followers.[13] Her breakout moment arrived with a viral Bollywood dance video. In 2018, she delved into comedy videos on TikTok.[14] Lochi's TikTok profile under the handle 'lochanajayakodi' showcased her prowess in dance, comedy, and lip-sync videos, amassing a substantial following of over 850,000 fans.[15][6]</p><p>Beyond her digital endeavors, Lochi made her acting debut on stage at the tender age of 12.
