Vijaya Nandasiri, born Ilukpitiya Mudiyanselage Vijaya Nandasiri, was a prominent Sri Lankan actor, director, producer, and singer. He was born on May 6, 1944, in Maharagama, Sri Lanka, and passed away on August 8, 2016, at the age of 72 at the Colombo South Teaching Hospital in Kalubowila.
Vijaya received his education at Vidyakara Vidyalaya in Maharagama. He began his career in the entertainment industry in 1966 and remained active until his passing in 2016. Throughout his extensive career, he made significant contributions to various fields, including acting, directing, producing, and singing.
In 1989, Vijaya married Devika Mihirani, who was also an actress. Together, they had two children. Vijaya was also related to actor Lal Kularatne, who is his cousin.

Vijaya attended Vidyakara Vidyalaya in Maharagama and initially aspired to join the military due to his involvement in the school cadets.
In 1989, Vijaya married fellow actress Devika Mihirani, known for her role in Sri Lanka's first tele-drama, Dimuthu Muthu. They have two children named Navanjana and Rasanjana Suchitra. Navanjana, born on November 13, 1989, is married to businessman Chaminda Gunaratne. Rasanjana, following in his father's footsteps, has also ventured into stage dramas.
Vijaya's acting career spanned theater, film, and television. He appeared in numerous stage dramas, including notable productions like Ran Kanda, Maname, and Rookada Raajje. As a dramatist, he also directed successful plays such as Vrushaba Raja and Kusa Pabawathie. Additionally, he made significant contributions to television, acting in teledramas like Gamana, Pramada Wedei, and Sikka. His breakthrough role came in the sitcom Nonawaruni Mahathwaruni, where he gained fame for his portrayal of Gunadasa Premachandra.
