Sabeetha Perera, born as Warnakulasuriya Uswattha Liyanage Sabeetha Janaki Perera on 1st December 1962 in Wennappuwa, Sri Lanka, is a renowned film actress. She has been actively involved in the industry since 1967. Sabeetha received her education at Visakha Vidyalaya. In 1998, she married Don Upali Jayasinghe, and the couple has one child together. Sabeetha's father is Stanley Perera, and her mother is Girley Gunawardana. Throughout her career, she has been honored with accolades such as the Sarasaviya Best Actress Award and the Sarasaviya Most Popular Actress Award.

Sabeetha was born as the third daughter of the esteemed actor and director, Anthony Stanley Perera, and the renowned actress, Girley Gunawardana. She has two elder sisters, Sandya and Sadna, as well as a younger sister named Chandima. During her early years, the family resided in Mount Lavinia, her mother's hometown, where she attended Visakha Montessori for primary education. Later, they moved to Wennappuwa, her father's hometown, where she completed her secondary education at Holy Family Convent.
In her acting career, Sabeetha made her debut at the tender age of three, playing the role of a daughter in her father's film, "Ivasana Dana." She further showcased her talent by portraying the daughter of her own mother in the film, "Hathara Kendaraya." Sabeetha's entry into the Pakistani film industry came after her role in Yasapalitha Nanayakkara's film, "Rosy." The Sinhala film titled "Sadaakal Randeva," based on the novel "Never Say Goodbye," was screened in Pakistan as "Kabi Al Vidana Kena" and achieved blockbuster success in both countries. This led to further opportunities for Sabeetha in the Pakistani film industry, where she appeared in 17 Urdu films, including "Nadiya," "Zameen Aur Aasman," "Sabke Baap," "Mashbu," "Aagh Hi Aagh," "Ruby," "Donkaraya," "Ayya Nago," "Sebaliyo," "Okkoma Hawul," and "Chandi Kello." Some of these films were collaborative productions between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Sabeetha's remarkable performances in these films earned her accolades, including the Best Actress award at the Alsakar Film Festival in Pakistan for her role in "Nadiya."
