Hewakalu Ambalage Sachini Nipunsala, known by her popular name Sachini Nipunsala, is a well-known Sri Lankan television presenter and dancer. She gained recognition as a child artist and later became a prominent television personality in Sri Lanka. Sachini has hosted various shows, including the reality show "Derana Little Star" and the musical chat program "Champions Stars."
Sachini was born on November 7, 1992, in Boralesgamuwa, Sri Lanka. She is the only child of her parents, with her father Ajith Lionel working as a businessman and her mother Shyamalee Pieris being a housewife. She attended Vidayakara Balika Vidyalaya in Maharagama from 1998 to 2008, actively participating in drama and art circles and serving as an announcer for school events. In 2009, she moved to Visakha Vidyalaya in Colombo 05 and completed her A-levels in 2011. Sachini graduated with a first-class degree in Marketing Management (B.Sc. Hons.) from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura in 2016.
She is married to Isuru Shanaka Randeniya, a business analyst, and their wedding took place on March 13, 2020.
Sachini began her professional career as a television presenter at TV Derana in 2006. She hosted various children's programs, such as "Amuthu Muthu," "Lassana Ahasa," and "Ammai Mamai." She gained widespread recognition as the regular presenter of the reality show "Derana Little Star" alongside Madhava Wijesinghe. Sachini co-presented all 10 seasons of the show until 2020. She is currently a co-presenter on the musical chat program "Derana Champions Stars Unlimited" with Wijesinghe and Peshala Manoj since 2014.
In addition to her popular television shows, Sachini hosted the bridal show "Vivaha" from 2016 to 2017. She has also been the Red Carpet Host for events such as the Derana Film Awards, Derana Dream Star, Derana City of Dance, and Sumathi Awards.
Apart from her television career, Sachini is an accomplished dancer and has gained popularity through her dance covers. She has a dedicated YouTube channel where she shares dance covers of popular songs. Sachini's dance cover of the song "Visekari" has garnered over 3 million views on YouTube. She is also the founder of the dance studio "Studio Steps," where she teaches Bollywood dancing.
In 2021, Sachini was featured in the Raffealla Fernando Celebrity Calendar, an esteemed recognition for Sri Lankan celebrities. She also made a cameo appearance in the soap opera "Sangeethe" during the same year.
