Lucky Dias's Biography:
Palandha Pathirage Lakshman Calistus Dias, better known as Lucky Dias
(ලකී ඩයස්), was born on 5 February 1949. He is a multifaceted figure in
the realm of Sri Lankan cinema and teledrama, wearing the hats of an
actor, producer, and director.[1] Lucky Dias embarked on his cinematic
journey in 1986 under the guidance of his esteemed mentor, the renowned
actor and film director, Gamini Fonseka. Notably, he made his mark as
the inaugural host of "Obada Lakshapathi Mamada Lakshapathi," the Sri
Lankan adaptation of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?". Lucky Dias took a
significant step in his personal life as well, entering into matrimony
with Malini Fonseka, a prominent Sri Lankan film actress, on 12 June
1986. However, their union came to an end in 2011 through divorce. In
recognition of his contributions to the cinematic arts, Lucky Dias was
honored with the Presidential Film Award in 1998.
