Aruni Rajapaksha originally hails from Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka, and her upbringing took place in Kandy. Following her completion of the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination, Aruni enrolled at Kandy Technical College to pursue a secretarial course. During this period, she took the initiative to organize fashion shows in Kandy, which ultimately steered her towards a modeling career. Currently, Aruni is married to Nalin Samarawickrama and is the proud mother of twin daughters.
Professional Path
In 2004, Aruni achieved the coveted title of Udarata Menike, along with clinching the Capri Beauty Queen crown in 2005.
She also participated in the Miss Tourism Queen International 2007 competition held in China and the Miss International 2007 competition held in Japan.
Further adding to her accomplishments, Aruni secured an impressive 3rd place in the 2nd edition of the Bride of the World 2012 competition, a prestigious event that took place in Macau, China.
