Kapuwela Vidanage Senanayake Mudiyanselage Jayani Chamathka Dharmadasa Senanayake, born on February 1, 1974, known by her popular moniker Jayani Senanayake, is a prominent figure in Sri Lankan cinema, theater, and television. She has showcased her remarkable versatility as an actress, excelling in both dramatic and comedic roles. Notably, she has garnered acclaim for her performances in films such as "Sulang Kirilli," "Walapatala," and "Goal."
Early Life:
Senanayake commenced her educational journey at Sri Sumangala Maha Vidyalaya in Anuradhapura. She later attended Dhammdinna Vidyalaya in Galkulama and eventually completed her education at Niwanthakachethiya Vidyalaya in Anuradhapura.
Acting Career:
Jayani's foray into the world of acting began during her school years, where she participated in stage dramas. Her exceptional talents led her to earn the prestigious title of Best Actress at the North Central Drama Festival. Subsequently, she collaborated with M. Dharmasena to perform in his play titled "Wera." However, her significant breakthrough in the realm of theater occurred during her time at university, working under the guidance of Wasantha Dukgannarala.
Her inaugural cinematic venture took place in the 2001 film "Mathu Yam Dawasa," directed by Dharmasena Pathiraja.
