Kumarasinghe Arachchige Dona Chrihashni Nehara Canishia Pieris, born on December 21, 1988 (known as නෙහාරා පීරිස් in Sinhala), is a popular Sri Lankan actress in both cinema and television. She is also recognized for her talents as a singer, dancer, and TV host.
In her personal life, Nehara Pieris was born to parents Curtis Pieris and Nishanthi Pieris and has a brother named Nehan Pieris. She completed her education at St. Lawrence's School.
Nehara was previously married to Nirmal Perera, with whom she had a long-term relationship starting in 2008. However, due to numerous disputes, they divorced in 2011. Later, she tied the knot with the well-known television and cinema actor Menaka Rajapakse on 28 January 2014 at Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo. Menaka had a previous marriage and a daughter from that relationship.
Her career in the entertainment industry began in 2005 when she appeared in advertisements. In 2007, she got the opportunity to feature in the music video for the song "Mihiraviye" sung by Shihan Mihiranga. Her debut in television acting came with the serial "Senehasata Adare," directed by Nalan Mendis in 2007. Afterward, she became a prominent face in many popular television serials, including "Muthu Kirilli," "Amanda," and "Ruwan Maliga." Her performance in "Muthu Kirilli" earned her three awards for the most popular actress in the same role.
Nehara also showcased her dancing skills by participating in the reality show "Sirasa Dancing Stars," where she secured the fifth place. She collaborated with the dance troupe Torrential and performed at Ummul Maleeha Memorial Hall, Panadura, on 5 December 2009.
Additionally, she hosted the television musical program "Tea Party," which aired on TV Derana for three years.
In 2020, Nehara embarked on a new venture by establishing her own dancing academy called Nehara Dance Studio, located in Attidiya, Dehiwala.
