Isuru Lokuhettiarachchi is a prominent actor in Sri Lankan cinema and television, known for his versatile performances. He was born on 23rd March 1983 in Matara, Sri Lanka, as the youngest child in his family. He completed his education at Rahula College, Matara, and has an elder brother.
Before pursuing a career in acting, Isuru served in the Sri Lanka Army as a second lieutenant from 2003 to 2007. He was stationed at various army bases, including Ariyalei in Jaffna during the Eelam War. After leaving the army, he worked in the pharmaceutical marketing industry as a manager. In 2013, he pursued his passion for drama and theater, earning a degree in Drama and Theater from the University of Drama.
Isuru Lokuhettiarachchi began his acting journey with uncredited roles in a few teledramas and stage dramas. His first television appearance was in the drama "Dennata Denna" directed by Charith Kothalawala in 2008, where only his back was visible as a reality show watcher wearing a numbered t-shirt. In 2012, he landed his first significant supporting role as "Piyarathna" in the popular drama "Malee."
Besides his acting, Isuru is also recognized as a skilled dubbing artist, lending his voice to various dubbed television serials, including "Boys Over Flowers," "Pruthuvi Maharaja," "Adjiraja Dharmashoka," "Ananthayen Aaa Tharu Kumara," "Blacklist," and "Me Adarayay."
His debut in cinema was in the 2017 film "Ran Sayura," where he portrayed a villainous character. Notable films that earned him praise include "Nidahase Piya DS," "Husma," and "President Super Star." His portrayal of "Ruwan" in "Husma" received particular acclaim from critics. In 2020, his role as "Narada" in the television serial "Sanda Hangila" gained popularity due to his authentic Southern Sinhala accent.
Isuru Lokuhettiarachchi has also showcased his hosting skills, presenting the television musical programs "7 Notes" and "Siyatha Voice Of Asia" broadcast on Siyatha TV. Additionally, he appeared in dual roles in the television serial "Hoda Wade" in 2020.
