Emerging as a child artist, Wijesinghe ascended to become a prominent television presenter in Sri Lanka, renowned for his engaging hosting of the reality show "Derana Little Star" and the musical chat program "Champions Stars."
Personal Life:
Born on June 18, 1988, in Sri Jayewardenepura, Colombo, Sri Lanka, Madhava Wijesinghe holds the distinction of being the second child in his family. His father, Wijesinghe Pathirage Padmasena Perera, holds the esteemed position of Deputy General Manager at the State Mortgage and Investment Bank. His mother, Kahandawa Appuhamillage Malkanthi Kahandawa, serves as a dedicated state employee. Among his family members is his brother, Gayan Wijesinghe, who occupies the role of an assistant accountant. His educational journey encompassed primary education at Maharagama Dharmashoka College, followed by secondary education at Lumbini College.
In 2011, Wijesinghe achieved a Diploma in Writer-ship and Communication from The Department of Sinhala and Mass Communication within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Further enriching his skills, he completed a Diploma in Television Program Production Techniques and Video Technology through the National Youth Services Council, Maharagama.
Madhava Wijesinghe tied the knot with Nanduni Ranasinghe on October 26, 2020. Nanduni, a graduate of Tianjin Medical University, China, hails from an artistic lineage, with veteran actor Douglas Ranasinghe as her paternal uncle, and renowned radio personality Thileka Ranasinghe as her paternal aunt. Notably, her cousin is the esteemed actor Saranga Disasekara, and her sister-in-law is the acclaimed actress Dinakshie Priyasad.
Career:
At the tender age of five in 1993, Wijesinghe embarked on his acting journey, making his debut in the critically acclaimed movie "Chanda Kinnari," directed by Asoka Handagama. This significant venture saw him portraying the role of the 'youngest son' alongside renowned lead actors Swarna Mallawarachchi and Hemasiri Liyanage.
Engaging actively in the State Children's Drama Festival, he ventured into hosting student programs on Independent Television Channel and Sirasa TV. He also graced numerous commercials. Wijesinghe's prowess earned him a merit certificate for his lead role in the State Drama Festival.
